Special FinishesOur Avonlea and Dante painted ranges are beauitful, high quality hardwoods to which a superior quality paint is applied. The grain is still visible through the painted layer maintaining it's integrity. There are four different finishes available in our Dante and Avonlea
painted ranges and it is important to choose very carefully - to get
the finish that suits you best.
We have provided a small graphic and description of each finish as a
preliminary guide.

Smooth finish
This door has had any naturally occuring knots, cracks or splits filled, leaving behind a smooth,
uniform texture. This door does, however, still feature a certain amount of wood grain through the painted
surface. Painted doors with a smooth finish will feel at home in either a contemporary or a traditional
environment.

Smooth finish with distressing
This
door has also had any naturally occuring knots, cracks or splits filled
to leave a smooth finish, which is then rubbed down at the hard edges
of the door to leave a 'rubbed-through' or 'distressed' look. Creates
an 'aged' look and feel.

Character finish
Knots, cracks and splits are left unfilled and vary in size from door to door to create a kitchen
that is full of character and looks like it's always been there.
